So, in light of a meeting I had on Friday about missing so much school, my parents told my year head that I sat on my laptop all day and I don't really do homework. Then my hear head suggested that I could bring my laptop into school and see how it works out. I will be doing it.
Do you do it now?
What is your opinion on this?
Does your school have a rule against this?
If you were given a choice, would you do it?
Try leave out all the possibility of theft and breakage and such, as that is a different matter.

Well from 7th to 9th grade I was given a MacBook from the school. It helped at times but did worse then good. I would easily find myself getting distracted and not doing schoolwork. However it was still useful to have!! I moved and now attend a private school. I didn't have a computer and found to work on things. But I was more focused in school and not distracted. Hope I helped!

I take my laptop to school if i think i'm going to need it for a project or assignment i'm working on, otherwise its just one more thing to carry so i leave it at home.

I bring my MacBook to school and use it in 3rd hour sometimes. That's why I'll be on for like 50 minutes at 10 AM central time usually. I also use it for research for projects.

I use my nexus 7 tablet.
It's basically a small supercomputer.

I do it rarely, bring my notebook in. We are allowed to use it in like, 1 lesson but it's mainly for the library and independent working. I sometimes watch programmes on it.

Computers are useless at school I find, nothing beats the old fashioned pen and paper. I find when ever I use a computer I either end up getting bored or going on the internet. However since I can't draw very well I always end up doing work on paper

I bring my laptop to school almost every day, because there are tons of researching projects and that kind of stuff.

Do you do it now? No, I have been considering it however.
What is your opinion on this? I think it is fine, I prefer writing via a laptop rather than taking regular notes on paper.
Does your school have a rule against this? No, but obviously there are restrictions such as not being able to use the Internet for non-School related stuff while in School.
If you were given a choice, would you do it? Yep.

Do you do it now? Yes, I bring my laptop to school (almost) every day
What is your opinion on this? It's a great academic tool, and good for finding the loophole in the "no gaming on school computers" rule
Does your school have a rule against this? No, but you should talk it through with your teachers if you want to take notes during a lecture
If you were given a choice, would you do it? Yes
I mean, as long as you're doing what you're supposed to be doing (or learn to become really sneaky about using Skype or Facebook :P), nothing can really go wrong.
Though to be fair, I think I can get away with technology more because I live in a technology haven, practically. (Silicon Valley started the computer revolution.) My astronomy and maths teacher let's us use our phones and iPods to calculate or to research something. :P But if you're being given permission from your head to do it, go for it.

Even though I'm on the east coast, our teachers are doing the same thing. Most of our state has adopted new technology policies in the schools.
Makes sense since they have found that kids are more likely to pay more attention in class if technology is allowed. Mainly because if it is not allowed then kids are constantly sneaking around checking their phones and missing what the teacher is saying.

Do you do it now?
Being as I'm in university now, it's not uncommon to take my laptop to classes. However, in high school, I did it rarely when I had a shit ton to due so I could "take notes" while getting other stuff done.
What is your opinion on this?
If your instructors don't object, go for it. I mean, of course safety is a concern, but it's a great resource in class.
Does your school have a rule against this?
Not specifically, but if it were a distraction, it could be prohibited.
If you were given a choice, would you do it?
Yes.

Do you do it now?
Yup, every day. If I don't bring it, my teachers actually get concerned and ask if things are okay.
What is your opinion on this?
Speaking directly to you, from comp user to comp user; type quietly, but frequently. Teachers are pretty adept at distinguishing the "tap-tap" of game typing [w-a-s-d-spacebar] from the "klackity-klack" of actual typing. If you type a lot, then the teachers think that you're actually taking notes.
I'm not saying that you should pretend to take notes. You should actually take notes, as they will help.
Does your school have a rule against this?
My school is pretty progressive, so they allow kids a lot of freedoms as far as method of learning goes.
If you were given a choice, would you do it?
No matter what the occasion, I always bring my laptop everywhere. If I can't bring my laptop somewhere, I don't go. Within reason. If there's a school trip or something and they tell me that I can't bring my laptop, I've got a couple pre-recorded written arguments for the teacher/principal to allow me to take it with me.

Do you do it now? Not always but been doing it a lot lately
What is your opinion on this? Nothing wrong with it, I don't use it much for notes though, and it's a bit distracting but I can use it between classes too
Does your school have a rule against this? No
If you were given a choice, would you do it - already doing it

I don't bring any of my Tech to School, my laptop is too slow and its too big. Its from 2009 and used to be my grandmas she gave it to me in 2011. In April I will be bringing my iPod Touch (New 5th Gen) to my (not to brag) new remodeled high school I can't wait for the newly remodeled school because it will be mostly Tech and Wi-Fi there! omg, just had a tour today it looks beautiful, and when I say beautiful, I can't describe it! XD I love the Library there.

Do you do it now? Yes, idk if its because I'm in college or what because in HS I didn't, but now I bring pretty much everything with me, my phone, my nano, laptop and tablet and a bunch of cables lol
What is your opinion on this? It's cool, if it benefits you and doesn't distract you from class then I'm all for it, times are changing and technology is a big part of it.
Does your school have a rule against this? No, some professors do but ultimately its a professor decision, theres no university rule.
If you were given a choice, would you do it? I already do.

At my school we do all our work on our school laptops, you have to buy one, it's not optional.

Do you do it now? No, because i don't have one :P
What is your opinion on this? I think it's a great idea, especially if it'll help you get work done.
Does your school have a rule against this? No, I don't think so, as I have seen a few kids using their laptops in various classes.
If you were given a choice, would you do it? If I had one, I think I would probably bring it in from time to time.

Your school, making you HAVE TO buy a Laptop? Honestly, if the school wants you to have a laptop, they should at least provide one for you or give you a giftcard to pay half the price.

I have done it very few times for very few important projects, but I can do it now with a smartphone. I do not like bringing my laptop since it is big, however when I get a new Linux ultra book I might just start bringing it.
