Do you think being depressed makes you a different person?
I was talking to someone and I said: So what if I'm depressed. It doesn't make me a different person.
And he said: Yes it does.
He wouldn't tell me why. Do you guys think it does?

To me it definitely does, you see the world in a different way than before, you act differently, things change. I see it in my friend who has depression, when she came back to school after 2 months off she was completely different. Just because she's different doesn't mean that I don't like her, it's not necessarily a bad thing, people just change. Depression changes you even though it's part of you, any mental illness will change you.

Definitely. I act a lot different when I'm depressed. I'm less social, more angry, meaner, more cynical, it does a lot to my personality. And even after getting over my depression, I was a different person than I was before getting really depressed, because it did change how I looked at things, and it just made me grow as a person in general.

Yes it does, it affects your mood, because you're always feeling like shit, and you don't feel like doing things you normally do, when you're happy.
So yeah, depression can change the kind of person you are.

yes, it doesnt change you in a totally bad way, but you become less tolerant of assholes. You become more aware of what is and isn't wrong. You have more emotion and better advice.

Yes I totally think it does, especially when you're around friends and stuff. It's a hard one to explain but if I remember a few years ago before this all happened I was very different.
