What do I do?

I have a school friend, and she worries me alot. She takes joy in pain, and likes to cause pain on others, even her friends. I am asking this, because I don't know what to do, or if thereis anything I can do. I have tried to talk to her about this, and I tried to comfort her, but she refuses to stop. I don't know if it's a phase, since she is 13. My question is: How can I help her with this? Thank you.

There is nothing wrong with taking pleasure from a healthy amount of pain, or a controlled pain, like masochists do; but your friend sounds like she has a problem.

If you can, try speaking with a sort of guidance counselor, or try to find out what is causing her to do this and go from there with it. If necessary, involve an adult.
