Okay, so this is really weird, but I'm going to ask it anyhow!

When I have a tampon in I feel it inside me, no matter how far in I put it. and sometimes when I'm sitting around I feel it really hard and unless I remove it, I start feeling like I'm about to orgasm.

I don't use the large tampons, I just use regular ones, and it even happens with the small ones when I've tried down sizing. Also, I'm a virgin.

Is this normal? and what can I do to stop it other than pads? I exercise a lot so I really don't want to go back to pads.

I don't know about the orgasm bit.. That's odd....

You may be inserting them wrong and they could be sitting in the wrong spot, because tampons are supposed to be undetectable. You're not supposed to feel them most of the time. Next time you buy them, most usually come with instructions so read over them carefully. There are videos on the Internet as well about how to. If you're new to using tampons you might just not being used to them let so give them some time, practice using them, it took me like two years to be able to position pads properly. Maybe use them for a couple of days during your period and switch to pads on days you're inactive. Trying new brands might help also, the brand you're using might be irritating for you.

Being a virgin doesn't have an affect on tampons unless your hymen is intact which, since you have already had tampons inserted, isn't really possible.

It sounds to me that you may not be inserting them far enough. They should be inserted in beyond your clit so you should not feel stimulation. It may be a question for your doctor if it is a problem. Also like said read and follow instructions.

I agree with redneck, you should put it in far enough that only the string hangs out. I have never had that problem.

Not sure what to advise beyond making sure they are inserted far enough into the vagina because what you describe is what you would feel if the tampon is not put in all the way. If your 100% sure you have them in right and you still feel this maybe it's tome to see your gyno as there may be something inside the vagina causing this sensation such as an abnormal growth or tumor thats causing this.

I know when I first started using tampons I had that feeling it passed.. just the feeling of something inside me got me going then.. it takes time to get used to

Evalynn, it may be gross now but when it's time, you will see the difference between the pads and tampons especially if you are swimming.

Yeah it sounds like it's just not seated right. As for feeling it in there I felt it for a while too. But when you stop thinking about it being in there then you won't even feel it anymore.
