View Full Version : VT Emails not being sent?

I have my subscribed threads signed up for weekly emails on VT, and for about 2 weeks I haven't been getting those weekly emails, EVEN tho there is NEW POSTS in the threads I'm subscribed to.

In efforts to speed up our server (which we did) the subscribed threads feature was reset. Double check your settings for it in the User CP. If everything looks good, then I recommend changing it to the "Don't send a notification" option, saving, and then changing it back

No, it is not going to junk (I think, I will recheck that though.) Also @StoppingTime thanks for the advice, I just did what you said by undo the notifacations then redo. I will tell this thread next monday how its doing. Feel free to keep posting advice.

That explains why the recent threads I created won't save in the folder I created in the Subscriptions area. Had to change every one of them to "No email notification" after changing back to that setting :S

Thanks for you help I'm recieving the emails again! If I ever have this problem again I'll do what it was suggested to do here.

I am bumping this because I need help with this problem again, when I had fixed this problem, I had been getting my emails back but then the next week they aren't getting sent again. So then I did what was said before and I'm still not getting them!

What email address provider is it?
Many things could be going wrong with the email address/provider, and it may not be an issue with VT.
For example;
-excessive amounts of emails from the same sender (in this case, VT) that may appear as Spam could've been blocked by the provider from reaching your Inbox
-If you're using Hotmail, such as the Sweep feature, you could've blocked VT's email address, therefore no longer receiving any emails from VT.

Please scroll down to Default Thread Subscription Mode
Change it to 'Instant email notification'
Press save.
After doing so, I would wait as instant doesn't always mean instant. It can take a minute or two for VT to send the message to your email.
Wait about a day or so and report back letting us know if it sent you any emails regarding new replies to a thread you're subscribed to (such as this one).

To make sure you're subscribed to this thread, scroll up and you'll see a 'Thread Tools' box.
Press it, and make sure it says you're subscribed to this thread.

See how mine says 'Subscribe to this thread'. It says that because I'm not subscribed to it. Yours should say 'Unsubscribe to this thread'. If it does, that means you should receive an email when someone else besides you posts in the thread :D

Ok, I have been getting instant emails but why not weekly? And they are pretty popular threads. I'll try weekly again and I'll let you know Monday. If I have more problems I'll let you know.

I'm sorry I keep returning to this thread. I just can't seem to get any Subscribed thread updates in my email! Its not going to my spam, I get it in Instant Emails but not Weekly! Should I try daily?
