Should we stay? Leave now? Gradual withdrawal? How should we do this?

I personally think we are so totally screwed, that there is no way we can stay, or withdraw peacefully. I think we just need to leave now, and get it over with. We did everything wrong, the countries a mess, we cant fix it. GET OUT NOW! Your opinions?:D

Eh, they're fucked. You know what will happen? We will pull out and a) the country will erupt in full blown civil war from which a dictator will emerge, b) the civil war will happen, but so many will flee the country that it will not be possible for any sort of society to function, c) Iran will take control of Iraq amidst the chaos of the civil war, d) all of the above, or e) we will stay there indefinitely.

Yes, that is pretty much what I see for the future of Iraq... It is so sad

What we probably should do: Gradually withdraw
What we will do: Stay there until hell freezes over... Or pull out immediately and watch as Iraq collapses... No matter what we do, the pillars holding up Iraq will collapse, and the cookie will crumble.. into lots of bite size bits... :/

Well as being a uk person unlike most people on this forum I see the uk army backing the usa army. The war in iraq started with finding weapons of mass destruction, there was none, sadam was taken out of power, so I say mission accomplished, yes we cant leave the country like it is, but we should gradually pull out, some of the uk army has pulled out (Thank god my cousin is back un-harmed).

Also I always get confused at this point uk and usa have nukes so do alot of europe countries +Russia and some others, why does Iraq not allowed to have them then? I know why uk and usa are slowly running out of the black stuff oil, iraq has tones, My cousin said hes seen oil being shipped back to uk and usa having priority over dead service men which I find shocking.

You probably think Im mad after reading what I've just said but its honestly my view and I'll stand by it.

So, taking out a stable government, and replacing it with chaos and terrorists is "Mission Accomplished? Iraq+ Other small countries shouldnt have nukes bcause they arent always stable countries, and terrorists could easily get the nukes, and kill millions, etc.

yeah, i think its just been a screw up. once hussain was captured, they should have got out. that was the purpose of it, i don't know what the purpose for being there is now. but our prime minister seems to think its a good idea so our aussie troops are still there.
