My dad offered me a 1970 Camaro SS, he offered to make it almost illegal to drive on the street.

My mom offered me her 2006 Volkswagen Jetta, all stock parts.

Or I can wait for money in my family to come, and buy a exotic car, (about 10 years)

Depends on what type of person you are?

If you think you are mature and skilled enough for the Camaro SS which I'm presuming that by making it almost illegal by modifying it, I think that if you're a car person you can't really go past that for a Jetta. That being said though, for a car not to be illegal, you're talking ridiculous power. Unusable power that would make the car a bit of a pig with 1970's steering components and brakes.

Knowing how I have been known to drive at points (I'm not proud) I would not be offering any highly modified vehicle to my kids.

The Jetta would be a nice base to start off from, learn a bit, and if any damage is done I would imagine it would be of a lesser scale than anything that would happen in a Camaro.

If you're patient, wait for your finances to grow and purchase what you want.

Take what YOU want, not what some randoms on a forum want.

If you can handle what sounds like a rediculously modified camaro, then take it! What "exotic" car are you talking about? like a BMW M6 or a Lambo?

Is it bad that I think the Jetta would be cool? Old cars are fun, but a pain to use as daily drivers.

Jetta.
a 70's Camaro just isn't safe for a first driver. Good insurance may be a pain, too.

Hmm quite a situation you're in. First of all, would you consider the decade (give or take) of wait worth the exotic car? Also take into consideration the cost of maintenance, insurance, and other things for all three options. If it were me, I would probably choose the Camaro, until of course the day that my family has enough money for a nice sports car.
