Hey everyone! Okay, so last summer I really wanted to surf, but I never did. :( But I told my mom this summer I'll have a job and be able to actually help pay for surfing lessons! So who surfs here!? Is it easy or hard?!

I live at the beach and have never done it either, and really not sure why. Our wave aren't that great, which is probably what I would need anyways. Hope you get your wish.

My dad was a pro surfer, and I grew up on the beach, so I started surfing when I was really young. I rarely do it anymore though. Some people pick it up pretty fast, others don't. Having good balance - which often comes courtesy of good core strength - really helps.

It seems like fun and pretty cool, but I suck at skateboarding (and anything remotely close to that) so I probably don't have much of a chance!
It's cool if you do, though. I have a bunch of friends who are really into surfing and wakeboarding and the sort. They're always trying to drag me out there and at most I end up being the boat driver towing them around. :what:

My family and I vacationed in Hawaii last year. Part of the package was surfing lessons. By the end of the second day I was able to stand up and surf back to shore on Waikiki beach. When we went to the north shore it was cazy! The pros there were sooooo great!

i know how to surf and i live by the beach, rarely do it. but any way. it is hard the first couple times. expect to fall off the beard your first couple times. and though your 15, don't be shy to stay in the inside waves(already broken with white foam) it will make things easier. as you get better try outside waves(not broken and no white foam).

I don't do it often but like it. Was kind of hard staying up the first few times but once you can stay up it's fun

I just wish I lived by the sea!!! But I guess Im lucky enough to go on summers. I dont know how it will be for you, but for me it has hard at the beginning, very frustrating and I fell countless of times (having a good teacher helps) But once you get the hang of it, its one of the best things ever! Dont give up, its really worth it!

My grandparents live on the beach and I went there two summers ago and took surfing lessons, it's really hard at first, but its fun and worth it once you get better.

We have a Beach Condo near San Diego. My brother is a lot more into surfing than I am, we have 4 or so boards including a "soft" learning board and a longboard. I can manage to get up but not too much more. I just enjoy being out on the water.

did a week beginners course whilst on holiday and I sucked at it. Gotta have pretty good balance, and it more tiring than it looks. But it's also good fun!

I used to all the time when I lived in cail. I think its a lot of fun once you get how to do it. I also love the beach. You will liek it take it slow.

It takes a lot of practice to master balancing, but once you get the hang of it, it is a whole lot of fun! I think you should give it a go!
