What best friend relationship was this?

I've searched the web and I am unable to find what kind of best friend relationship I had.

We're both guys and I was at least a year older than him but we had known each other since we have been babies thanks to our parents. When we had sleep overs from time to time we used to play quite a lot of games but sometimes it would get to the point were I'd be playing a game and he would suddenly come over and put his arms around my waist resting his head on my shoulder while he watched or he would be playing a game and he would come and lie down next to me resting his head on my body like we was cuddling.

I also kind of did the same with him and I've not really thought about it until now as to why we had such an attachment to one another that we would physically be cuddling all the time and yet not have any sexual thoughts behind any of them (apart from normal experimentation).

Do really close best friends do this even if they are guys? I never had a problem with it at all.

I would say that you are really lucky to have such a close friendship, I don't think there is a way to categorise your friendship.

Some guys are like that and that's perfectly fine if you are both comfortable with being that close.

Why try to to label this relationship Just be glad you have someone that cares for you so deeply.

I would call this a bromance! You guys love each other, but not actually love love each other in a relationship, yet you both are really comfortable with each other in your friendship you'll do exactly what you just said you do with your friend. It's all cool!
