On Commercial Airlines, do you think it's worth the extra fee for a first class, business, or even an "economy plus" seat?
I'm just curious. Let's pretend the flight is international, and will take 15 hours.
Would your opinion change if it was a domestic flight that's under 9 hours?

If I'm flying from Minneapolis to say.... Atlanta, that's a 2 1/2 hour flight. I could care less where I sit. Now I'f I'm flying from Minneapolis to TOKYO, then I'm gonna want the first class for sure!

Depends what airline you fly. If your flying like Emirates than yeah it's totally worth it. But if you fly like US Airways (soon to be American Airlines) than maybe yeah.

First class is definitely not worth it. You pay ten times more, but you dont get ten times the space.
Business class is enough, though its still very costly. That being said, you do get more. I once took an american airlines international flight in business class, and it was much more comfortable than economy class.
As of economy plus, its just economy with a little bit more leg room...

On long flights, and if you are taller than 5'12, I will say go business not first. If you cannot afford business, then try to find an airline that has preferred seats on economy, with more legroom. Also, you should try and get, if you are strong enough, emergency exit seats. They have more legroom and the seat in front do not recline too much.
Business and First are both premium service ones, some will say too much service for their comfort.

Depends on the distance I'd say, Internetional I'd choose First Class. Local or something like NYC to DC it's not even worth it.

As most people have said, it depends on time between 0 and 5 hours I'd get the regular, but anything after, I'd get the first

It really depends on how long the flight is.

Eh. You really can't compare the business & first class of any American-owned airliner or international budget carrier with the likes of Emirates or Singapore airlines.

If you get enough miles they will usually just upgrade you. My dad always gets upgraded in domestic. His company will pay for first/business if it's an international flight if he doesn't automatically get upgraded.
