So when I watch certain movies and a big part happens chills go down my body. Why is that and how does that work?

Apparently it's due to your body's fight or flight mechanism. Basically when you get scared your heart beats faster your nerve endings twitch making your body ready for a physical attack. That's the best explanation I can give but im often wrong so I welcome being corrected if necessary!

It's actually an adrenalin rush. It's a hormone that is secreted by the adrenal medulla in response to stress and increases heart rate, pulse rate, and blood pressure, and raises the blood levels of glucose and lipids.

Sometimes I get chills when something hasn't even happened yet, like I'll just be doing my math homework and then woah sudden apprehension.
