Planning on fixing LCD iPod screen

So I just bought a iPod touch 4th gen and I am bidding on an LCD screen (the glass part) I also just bought the tape part that's needed to put the new screen back on. But the site said the tape was for an iPod touch 3rd generation, will that tape still work with a 4th gen iPod?

By tape, do you mean the ribbon? If so then yes, it probably will not work with the new version of the iPod. Replacing parts can be a hassle when you do not have the right equipment, only get parts specifically for the device.

Unless your good with techy things I wouldn't reccomend trying to fix this yourself, I tried an IPhone one and it was an epic fail, I caused a lot more damage. Then again I'm a technospaz. Definitely only use parts made for that specific device though.

First of all. The LCD Screen, your talking about is called a touch pannel. Second, you should only use parts specifically for the device you are trying to fix. And Third, i highly recomend you get someone with more experience to do this. As persons with little experience tend to fuck things up royally.
