17' Boston Whaler Montauk. Twenty or so years old. We go out salmon/rock cod fishing in the ocean and trout/bass fishing when we take it to lakes.

Those whalers are built like tanks. They will last 50 or more years. There's a video of them boating with one that is cut in half to show the durability of the foam-filled hull. Cool stuff.
My dad's friend has a 32 or 34 Catalina. We go over to Catalina Island with him a few times every year.

Yea ours is from '89 and it has no damage at all. The hull is still perfect. Oh and it's completely unsinkable too, even if you fill the entire boat with water.

I have a 17.5 foot Stessl(?). It's old, but we love it. It's good for our diving, and we have a 90 horsepower Yamaha engine on it. It goes well.

Money pits sure, as are most hobbies, but problems? No.

I have a Seadoo rxp-x 260. It's a wave runner.
And to the guy thinking boats are just a problem, eh are not if you take care of them. Whenever I take mine out, when I come back and load it up I wash it and wax it. And yes they are money pits too. If I wanna go out for a couple hours of fun I better plan on spending at least $100.

That guy 'hears' a lot of things. Apparently electric cars set on fire a lot as well.
The Sea-Doo is cheap to run. I suppose it's running either one of their jet ski motors or a mercruiser?
We don't polish ours after every use (kills the gel coat), however we flush the motor after every use and wash it.

Haha. I don't wax it every time it goes out. I do wash it though and flush the engine. I put was on about every 2-3 weeks or when it's gonna go into storage for a while. And it's relatively cheap to run but when I go out its for hours on end. So it costs some money to do.
