So i recently went on a gay teen website. I decided to post a pic of myself but now regret it. They made me feel awful about myself. I am fat but not extremely so. They started calling names such as peter griffin and troll. It really hurt me since I went on that site to get a support system for ppl with my sexual preference. I'm starting to feel like I'll never get a girl or guy cause I'm ugly.

Never think that!!! Everyone's beautiful in their own way. Online sites are horrible because all they can see is the outer shell, no one knows what's underneath. I personally prefer meeting people in real life for that reason. As for a support system, I recommend a lgbt youth forum or right here on VT. Remember don't let what people say get you down because if people are trying to pull you down it means you're above them. Good luck dude! :)

yep, true. people can be mean at any age, but especially our younger ages. but dont worry, people who see who said those things will know they are total losers and then wont talk to them because they are stupid. so it will just make you look even nicer. say some good stuff on your profile so people will see how great you are!

Don't pay attention to them. They just think they're tough and can say whatever they want because you can't punch them in the face over the internet.
Everyone's beautiful in their way (excuse my Born This Way reference). Even if you don't see it, someone else will. Don't let anyone make you feel worthless, because you're not, and you know you're not.

Their opinion's don't matter, they're people over the internet who want to be dicks because they're behind an impenetrable wall called the internet. It doesn't matter if your fat though, it's who you are not what you look like that will get you someone who likes you for you.

Yeah see I went on there looking for support as i just came out as bisexual guy. I had hoped that since being gay they have dealt with bullies and would be more accepting. I think i am going to stay with VT you guys are nicer here lol.

I used to be called Anorexic, even though I definitely wasn't considering how much I ate, which is just as bad as being bullied for being overweight... Trust me, you don't need a stupid, judgemental site to find acceptance or somebody that likes you! You can easily find that in the people around you :)
Have hope x

You have to realize that people will say anything on the internet. It's not only filterless because they aren't right in front of you, but it also gives them reasons to be extremely rude or mean. Don't take it personal and those sites are lame as hell anyways, you can do better.
Besides you wanna know what's really beautiful? An amazing personality. Be who you are, in the end that's what everyone is looking for in love. Just a cool personality that they can relate to. It's not all looks and people who are confident in themselves are sexy as hell.

Gay guys can be pretty brutal to one another which makes no sense to me because you would think that gay people would be understanding to one another. You are not the first person to have this experience, and I think some of those gay teen websites can be pretty shallow. It is so bizarre that places like this that have mostly straight people tend to be more supportive than gay websites like the one you describe.
I agree with the others that you should be comfortable with your own skin, and don't let some random trolls or armchair commandos make you feel bad. Short of those folks being God I doubt they look all that great. Just hang out on forums that are positive to you, and talk out your feelings to your family and friends. If weight is a genuine issue for you, then talk to your doctor to find out what exactly is your ideal weight. Don't let some blond haired toothpicks on some random website tell you how you are supposed to look. In the end as long as your personality is good, then you're fine.

Don't listen to what they say, as long as you love yourself then what does it really matter what anyone else says. If they can't except you for the wonderful person you are then that's their loss.
