When? When will the future we see in movies come to our daily lives?

Like the ones in Starwars !!!! Only time will tell when I don't think it will happen in our life time .

It might be quite a long time, but who knows. Time will tell.

There is a way to make holograms if you do a few reflections with flat screens, but holograms like in Star Wars will take way more time to achieve.

They have already made some form of holograms... I don't see the point in them so I doubt lots of money would be invested in creating them (other than for novelty) when a video message does the same job.

If you're interested in this stuff i highly recommend you read the book Physics of the Future by michio kaku. He's great at physics and writing informational books. I'm pretty sure somewhere in the book he talks about holograms. The majority of his predictions are based on moore's law, and the information was collected from over 300 top of the line scientists.
According to the book, moore's law will be irrelevant by 2020 or shortly after. This means that we would have reached the highest amount of transistors on a set scale in nanometers (i don't remember the number). So basically, one computer will have the brain power of every human brain combined.
With that amount of power in one computer, and transistors surpassing the nanoscale, i don't think it will be too long before we have holograms. Some holograms are already in public use - ever heard of the tupac hologram concert?

Miku hatsune is a hologram pop singer, so holograms could be here sooner then we think.

Yup, she even had a concert in the US a couple months ago.

Wow, it looked life like (excluding she being a cartoon). I am amazed!

I agree with you. I have read all of Dr. Kaku's books. They are extremely informative without becoming hard to follow. As you said when transistors start becoming so small they actually over heat and melt, people will begin using graphene. At this rate I would be very surprised if holograms weren't invented. Dr. Kaku estimates that within the next 100 (roughly) we will have holograms in the sence that you are familiar with. As seen in the quote above, this estimation is largely based on Moores Law.
