Random Darkness

Sometimes at random times my vision goes black and my head hurts really bad and then after a few seconds I feel fine and I'm still standing. Sorry if this is the wrong place, not sure where to put it. Does anyone know what this is? It's only started happening this year.

I'm sorry, but I don't know what might be causing this. It might be worth seeing a doctor and getting a professional opinion.

Does that happen when standing up from sitting or crouching? It might be a drop on blood pressure and you just were about to pass out. Happens to me when i move to fast from sitting on the floor to standing straight.

Also might be indicating a high blood pressure problem, you should see a doctor if this happens more 2 days a week.

This could be caused by low blood pressure or sugar, that's actually common in a lot of teenagers. Are you using any kind of drug, either prescribed or not? Some drugs have side effects that can make you have sudden feelings of light headedness, dizziness, fainting, etc.

Also there are various other reasons why this could be happening; like seizures. One student in a class i was in had about 5-10 second seizures that would cause him to become disconnected with everything while it was happening. He would just stare into space and snap back after the 5-10 second seizure. I don't remember which disorder he had though.

If it's persistent talk to your gp about it. Better safe than sorry.
