Evanescence

My favourite music for the time, is Evanescence. A rock band. I find that really weird, since I normally listen to Les Miserables and Phantom of the opera. I think the main reason is that I recognise the persons in the song, I really feel like its me their singing about! Its like those songs opened a new world for me opened a door that I never've seen before!
There's so many people who hates emo rock, such as Evanescence, and I understand them. I understand them, because I was one of them. But now I don't know what to do, 'cause my parents hates this kind of music and I'm afraid of telling them what's on my spotify playlist.

Personally, i'm not a "huge fan" of Evanesence, but I do like their music.
My favorite song by them, is "Bring Me To Life".

Oh, and sorry you're around so many people who hate the type of music you listen to.
I'd suggest you just listen to it, and not let anybody know you like the music you like.
It's not like they have to be aware of what music you like.

But yeah, that's dumb as hell, that they get angry with you, because they don't like the music you listen to.

You shouldn't have to change what you like for anyone or try to impress anyone with your music tastes, just be yourself and if people have a problem with that then that's something they need to sort out.

Personally I'm not too keen on Evanescence, I tend not to like female singers but I am having some strange obsession with My Immortal at the moment which is scaring me a little.

Honestly, it shouldn't matter to them. I listen to music that would drive my parents nuts if they heard it, or at least my mom. Don't let others dictate what you listen to. People have tried to convert me from rock to pop but I refused because I like rock. It's not really anyone's business. If you like it, go ahead and listen to it.

Evanescence is quite light. Sure, they were my gateway to that side of music, but I was about eight when I liked them. Too poppy for me to stand nowadays. My dad loves them as well as Nickelback. Let's just say it's a strain in our relationship.

Fuck the haters, though. I mean, your parents may be stricter than mine, but that's my motto when it comes to my music taste. I've been better about it than I used to, but I do still filter the music I share with my parents obviously. If they heard some of it, I'm sure I'd have been hospitalized a few more times.
