How many people have used Windows 8? I have it installed to my computer, and thus far it's run awesomely. I like it a lot.

I haven't, but that's only because I know I'd hate it.

I have Windows 8 on my secondary computer. Its OK, but some things that used to be easy to do are now hard, such as shutting down.

I've used both the developer preview and the released version, and hated them both.
Microsoft are taking the 'one size fits all' approach, and it just doesn't work.

I understand Windows 8 on tablets, and I imagine it would be quite good, but if you have a desktop/laptop, it's a bad OS.

I use it as my main operating system, and it works really well for me. But I think it was definitely made for more mobile devises, not laptops...

I just got a new ultrabook that was built for Windows 8, so it runs great for me. It was kind of hard to get used to where everything was and how it worked, but now I love it

Windows 8 is awesome, you have to be really stupid or really bad with computers to hate it.

It works just as good as 7 but much better because it boots up faster, uses less resources, and has a much more useful start menu (well, start screen, since it is now full screen).

It also has stuff like native multi-monitor and 3D support which will be pretty useful going forward too.

The style is kinda cool, but I don't like it that much and I have no plans to change to Windows 8. Gonna stick with Windows 7.

Upgraded my laptop on Boxing Day last year which came per loaded with windows 8 which took a few days too adjust to!

Months after and I absolutely love it, so customisable, useful, extremely fast and just an overall brilliant OS!

I quite like it. I don't really get why everyone was "making a big deal" about this sorta stuff.

I like the operating system as an overall, although it does have some flaws which I am not willing to diagnose myself. Some include;
Call of Duty 4; and many other games which run PunkBuster do not run, it crashes randomly due to PunkBuster.
Slow Network; Sometimes the network connection drops out or goes slow; also it displays your network usage, I don't like this. Don't really need the reminder of how much I am on the internet; no life basically.

I downgraded to Windows 7 months ago, as it was causing too many problems.

Although I downgraded, I really like Windows 8.

The OS is pretty solid and I enjoy using it on my laptop for school work and sometimes games, I haven't had any issues regarding programs and I certainly enjoy the interface as it just looks clearer to ME.

The problems with PunkBuster are related to that software, not Windows 8 (aside from an overall more secure environment, as far as PB is concerned, W8 and W7 are identical). A newer version of the software / a compatibility update from Microsoft should have solved the issues by now.

You can disable the network usage meter in the config panel. As for the slow connection, this is either related directly to your network, or your network hardware (Windows 8 has more strict minimum requirements for drivers. If the vendor hadn't updated the driver, it was most likely using an old driver that didn't conform to the new standard. Again, this should be fixed by now unless you have a really shitty NIC).

I know of the above stated, just too many other problems I don't want to deal with.

I don't use it as my primary Operating System, but that's because I have legacy applications I need to run, that will not run under Windows 8. For consumers, it's great. For enterprise, it's; meh... Training for staff is the biggest hurdle companies will have to overcome, if they wish to implement Windows 8 in their environment. No matter what computing situation you are in, it's always best to go with the latest technology available, unless there is something fundamental that's stopping you from moving to a new OS (my situation for example), you should go for it.

it doesn't really fit for laptops and desktops. it's too much of a big change from 7.

Yeah... I never used 7 though. I went from vista to eight,so I feel lost sometimes... But 8 is good on laptops from what I've used.

I agree with human. I tried out the release candidate as a dual boot on my desktop and just didnt like it. I hated having both the desktop and metro interfaces to deal with but I thought it would be really cool for a tablet. My windows 7 works great for me and boots up in almost no time since it's on an SSD. I just didnt see a good reason to switch.

Haha I don't use 7 either... I prefer vista although it's not as good as 7.
