I have tried weed before and I liked it but now I want to do it more. Is this bad and should I try to stop myself from smoking lots so I don't get addicted?

Yeah, stop right here. If you crave it too much, your body will depend on it and ruin your life.

I would try to stop as soon as possible. Personally, I have never smoked, and I never will. But I have seen a lot of people become stoners and not go anywhere in life. I would say it's okay to smoke it every few months or so. But many people end up enjoying it so much and smoke every day. I know people get mad when they hear "smoking weed is bad for you and it can mess up your life", but it's true.

Having a physical addiction to marijuana is impossible. All cravings / urges for the substance are based solely on the users psychological state. You can feel the mental urge wanting to smoke, however it's not physical and therefore isn't dependent upon the users body.
Smoking marijuana is a 50/50 shot. The way in which the substance affects your life - if it is affected at all - is dependent upon the user. Someone with a weak mind set, an addictive personality, and low motivation may suffer consequences from using marijuana. This is true for numerous other psychological addictions, such as playing video games. A user with a stronger mental capacity and willpower may be affected in an entirely different way. For me, marijuana has increased my perspective of the world around me, and broadened my horizon to new and exciting things. It has also helped to relieve my stress and joint pain, which has caused me to excel in school more than i have in previous years.
The question "Is marijuana bad?" is decades old and so far there is no direct answer. Scientifically, no. Using marijuana after your body and mind has finished developing is not harmful. However, inhaling smoke of any kind is not good for your lungs. The smoke won't give you cancer, but some research patients of scientific studies have experienced a shortness of breath after chronically using marijuana for long periods of time, this is a result of damaged cilia from the inhalation of smoke. Even with scientific evidence of the substances beneficial effects, many people still chastise marijuana as a "bad" thing to do. This is a social standpoint though, and not factual, merely a moral belief of some people.
I'm not promoting the use of marijuana in this post, just informing you. Using the substance is entirely up to you. Like anything, you need to be responsible and aware of the choice you're making if you continue to participate in using. Foolish mistakes lead to consequences; be smart.

Yeah, to tell you the truth, I'm all for legalizing pot, but all the kids in my school that smoke it a lot have shitty grades, and bad home lives. I know that isn't always the case though. If it was legalized it wouldd either be 18 or 21, which wouldn't affect highschool.

Do they have shitty grades and bad home lives because they smoke weed, or, do they smoke weed because they have shitty grades and bad home lives? Also, what's the legal drinking age in your state, and how many people do you know under that age who still manage to drink?
I'm not meaning to be a dick, just saying...

I didn't mention the legalization of pot, as this isn't a thread discussing that. I'd like to stay relevant to the op's original question please.
As i said before the way in which marijuana affects the user is dependent upon who the user is. Were their home lives already shitty, were their grades already low, did they have any motivation to get out of those situations in the first place?
People are affected by things in various ways depending upon who the individual is. Using a majority consensus from your school doesn't apply to all of the teenagers in the world.

Yeah, you have a point. With all of that. I drink here and there even... Legal drinking age is 21 in all 50 US states.

If you do smoke weed, it should be done in moderation, not excessively.
As Rob said earlier, it can ruin your life, if your body becomes dependent on it.
But, if you don't want to quit smoking weed completely, then maybe just do it occasionally.
Really, the only way it will fuck your life up, is if you smoke it, like every day, because you will become addicted to it.
Honestly, weed isn't that harmful at all, so occasionally smoking it won't do much harm, if any.
But, if you want to stop smoking it all together, then do that, whatever you think is best for you.:)

Cannabis does not cause physical dependence. Even the government admits that.

General speaking no, weed does nothing except lung capacity(few percents)
and a vape could probably fix that. Second, If you don't want to keep doing it, then don't. There is a pychological dependancy that is built up over time, so its easier to quiet early. If it is illegal then I would suggest not doing it simply because of the rash it leaves on your record.

If you're the type of person that becomes easily attracted to habits then don't do it anymore. Like posters above have already said (thank god) marijuana does not cause physical dependence, however, you can become "psychologically" dependent. This means you believe you NEED weed to relieve you of stress, responsibilities, pressure etc on a regular basis. Smoking weed becomes a routine because you believe you have to do it just to normally function, and a reliance is formed. At this point, you have become psychologically dependent on weed.

I've tried it before, and I honestly didn't care for it too much.
Was kind of fun to watch cartoons and bright videos, but that's about it. Don't plan on doing it again
