Not a big issue, two years really is not an insane age difference. And there is nothing technically wrong until you are above 18 years old, but to make things easier it might be better to find someone else.

Its 16 in the UK isn't it? Even here I don't think you'd be persecuted for a 2 year age difference, though. How close to 16 is he?

I don't think age matters at all. If you both like each other what's the problem? It's like not you'd feel bad if he had a different hair colour? Just think of it as ten years on because27 and 25 doesn't sound as bad

He wouldn't be prosecuted but he would be the second he turns 18.

There is a big emotional difference with a two year age gap when you are teens, compared to when you are adults.

if hes 16 and im 18 it isnt a problem in the UK

I didn't say prosecuted, I said persecuted. Age of Consent is 16 in the UK right? I can't imagine any sensible person thinking badly of you. But, you live there, so it's ultimately your call. Good luck.

Ya I am in the US, so I didn't know the laws for the UK. Social pressures will be present though if you chose to be with him.

I know kids that get made fun of if they are straight and date someone a couple years older (and gays still have more troubles than people that are straight.)

I think it is fine, but just a warning that people might not be overly accepting.

Hahaha, only some people having sense is the same there as here, then. I think people who matter won't mind, though. And anyone who would mind probably doesn't matter. :)

Whether the people matter or not, people still kill themselves because someone who "doesn't matter" said something and made fun of them.

Extreme example, I know, but whether or not someone matters doesn't change the impact it ends up making on a person for the most part.

Homophobes will be a problem regardless of any difference in your ages. But, again, it's ultimately your call. What does he think? Just wondering...

he wants to just be together and be open about it but the age is much less of a problem for him as it is for me... i wish i could be openly with him but im too scared haha

How long until he's 16?

If he is okay with it then sex is still technically illegal, but not morally wrong in my opinion. Plus, to be a pedofile, you would need to be above 18. If you feel like you two have a strong connection, then it doesn't matter what other people think.

Because you two are still in high school and the age difference between you two is practically nothing, then I think you are fine. Being a paedo is like if you were in your late 20s or 30s and going out with a high school kid. Even if the guy you like looks young it doesn't make you a paedo, and I am sure he is going to mature pretty soon anyway. As long as you are comfortable hanging out with his friends and he is comfortable with hanging out with your friends, then you are cool.

yeah this true thanks :) just hope its okay soon cuz i suppose i could wait until he matures a bit rather than waiting till hes 16
