I have a Samsung Galaxy Player. And my battery is going dead. This shouldnt be happening as I bought it in November. Do you think Samsung will replace the battery? Or will i have to fork out the 40$ for a new one?

You'd have to contact them and enquire, it'd really depend on how much you've used your phone and charged it.

If your phone is under warantee they'll probably be more likely to repalce it but don't count on it.

It a matter of whether they deem the battery as a 'consumable' part.

You can find a battery on ebay for under 10 bucks if they won't replace it . Which they should
