View Full Version : I am 16 years old, I sound 8 years old

I literally sound eight years younger than my current age. Something has to be completely wrong. All my peers sound like men, I am the only 10th grader that sounds like a little boy. What I don't understand is that I have a ton of pubic hair, a good amount of armpit hair, little chest buds, and I am perfectly capable of ejaculating. In fact, I was just jacking off to Audrey Bitoni. My semen is really white, not like male pornstar white; but like a really white cloud almost like milk. What is wrong, should I see a doctor? I also don't like talking because I feel like a little boy.

One of my friends is 18, 6'4, really muscular, and grew a full long beard at 14, but his voice is still high. Another friend of mine's voice dropped when he was like 10. The point I'm making is that different parts develop at different times. Although voice is generally one of the earlier ones, that is not always the case, as it is with you. It will change soon enough, and probably quickly too. Besides, don't worry what your friends think, if they judge you because of your voice, they aren't your friends.

I don't have any friends in my grade. I really hope it changes soon, I don't want to have this voice for the rest of my life. It's really annoying.

Don't worry, you definitely aren't going to have it for the rest of your life, I doubt you'll even have it for the rest of this year. Puberty, and life in general, is unfair and can kinda suck sometimes. Dealing with it will only make you stronger.

As cliche as it sounds, people develop at different rates. I mean you could see a doctor, but I'm sure they'd just tell you that you are still developing. Don't let it get to you too much mate, it will happen.

My voice broke at 16, when everyone elses was already low, and my voice is still high-ish, since I've just become adjusted to speaking in a higher register with other people even though I can produce the low sounds.
But anyway, the point is that it will break eventually, and it will happen at different times. What you may have some other boys may not have, such as armpit hair, it will come eventually. You shouldn't need to see a doctor until you're aged 20.

Alright, thanks for the feedback everyone.

I know it is hard having a high voice, and it is even worse when we tell you that everything is going to be all right. There a lot of guys who get really big and develop everything that guys do except for their voice being high. Puberty makes no sense, and there are times when a guy looks adult like but still has a little boy's voice well into senior year of high school. The reverse can happen with some guys having a little boy's body but having an adult's voice.

I wouldn't worry right now especially since you're developed everywhere else. I hate to say it, but give yourself time.

dude i know its easy to say but dont worry about it, your voice will change when it is ready to, it usually happens early in puberty but not always. actually it was one of my later changes, i got leg hair real early, like at 12, but voice was still high at 15. So yeah I mean it was an awkward couple of years with monkey legs, no growth down there and still talking like a girl.

Some people also just have high voices. I have a pretty high voice even though it's already changed.

One of my friends who is 16 in about a month has a high pitched voice as well. It's perfectly normal to happen because different parts of the body develop at different times.

last summer my voice was really high... until i came back from a summer camp... somehow it just changed really fast, so i'm pretty sure it'll eventually happen one day. just be patient!

I only just turned 15 when my voice broke but I was really developed in every other way. Don't worry! Everyone grows at a different rate and your voice will break eventually; no need to panic :)

You'll get there eventually, don't worry!

It varies from person to person. My voice is still quite high and I am 15. You could just have a late development in your vocal chords. Don't worry you will get their eventually

I have a really deep voice but I usually speak in a higher pitch as it sounds better for me, i've gotten used to it but now I can't stand speaking in my natural voice, everyone is different.

although I have one friend who has a somewhat deepish voice now but he can do one heck of a good impersonation of Fred. (I wish I could still speak in those high pitches, when I try I sound like I swallowed broken glass)

my point is there are those who wish they're voices were deeper and some who wish their voices weren't so deep.

My voice didn't deepen until late in 16!

Alright, thank you everyone. What age should I become concerned? Say like what if I am 19 and still sound like a little boy?

If you have absolutely no development by age 18, then you should be worried. I seriously doubt you have a problem, and your voice will drop by senior year. I have seen guys who had high voices up until senior year, but by the end of the year their voices dropped quite a bit.

To be honest, you are actually a lot more normal than you think, and there are a lot of guys out there with high pitched voices well into high school. Your voice will change no matter what, and I would not worry about it. Anyone who gives you a hard time about your voice is a jerk, and the reality is that you are just as much as a guy as the more developed ones.
