Should I ask the counsellor if I am depressed?
If I am, Should I be open about it?
I have to miss classes to see the counsellor, so should I be honest with them?

Be as honest as you can with them. You should maybe bring up depression and how you feel and see what he says about it. I don't know what you mean by being open about it if that's just with your family or at school. There's no need to flaunt any mental illness but you shouldn't be ashamed of it either. If you find out you have depression then you shouldn't tell anyone that will spread it and cause rumours but maybe tell a few close friends and your family.

Well see what your counsellor says, if he thinks something if seriously wrong then maybe you could ask him to call your parents and get him to explain. That's what my head of year did when I talked to her, she called my mum to get her to book a doctor's appointment. I'd suggest telling your parents how you're feeling, I'm sure they would want to know and appreciate you being honest with them. Well yeah you shouldnt tell anyone at school other than those you trust then.

I think that you should tell him that you have some fears over being depressed. They are there to talk to you after all. Also, be honest. He/She can't help you if you're not honest with them. So do your best. You don't have to go out shouting that you're depressed, and you also don't have to tell anyone if you don't want to. It's completely your choice, I haven't told more than three of my friends, and I'm okay with that. Just do what you feel comfortable with.

It's brilliant that you have a counselling service at school.
If you feel you want to go and speak with them, go and do it.
Speaking about how you feel is possibly the best thing you can do to help yourself,
Well done!

Ive talked to my counselor once and i would tomorrow again but school was canceled. He recommended the first time that i make an appointment with a psychiatrist that comes in every wednesday. Im not sure if your school has this or something like it, but it will only help to talk to him/her

No, we have a few counsellors. No psychiatrists.
