Yea it seems strange that she would take that position but from your post you mentioned you and her had been dating for several months and i'm guessing there isn't much besides kissing so far. If there hasn't been any kind of sexual contact in the relationship she may not think of you in those terms. I't common for some girls to date guys and not want sexual contact from him but this is most comon with girls under 14 and you didn't say how old she was. Another example is some girls don't want to be single so they start dating a friend that takes on a more platonic relationship while they wait for something better This would explain her reaction to your confession

I may be wrong but I think there is a large number of people ( mainly female ) who are grossed out by masturbating full stop. I know there are plenty of girls who do masturbate, your girlfriend just may not be one of them. Not exactly sure why I'm telling you about your girlfriend but hope this helps. :)
