I'm a bit conflicted. I definitely need them (I actually do have a perscription for eyeglasses, it's just over a year old because i broke my glasses), but i really dont know. on one hand glasses are easier to 'take on and off,' but i look really stupid in glasses. Which would you go for and why

Unless you're already used to contact lenses, I would just spend some extra time looking for a pair of glasses that suit your style.

There is always risk of infection when using contact lenses, and when worn overnight (by mistake or whatever) they cause severe inflammation. You have to be really careful with them.

In my opinion, and probably your optometrist's too, you should have both. For example, I have my glass which I wear in the morning until I get in the shower and then I put in my contacts until siesta when I put my glasses on for the afternoon. If I go back out in the evening, I'll put my contacts back in, but take them out when I'm home for good for the night so that my eyes can rest more. It's good to have a pair that you think make you look good so you are okay wearing them if you forget/don't want/whatever to put your contacts in.

I agree with Addison. You should get both. If you stay at home all day long, you should put glasses, but if you;re going out in public you should get contacts.
The only problem is that you put on and get off contacts too often and that can cause eye infection and other things. Contacts, in general can be pretty painful sometimes, e.g. if you have dry eyes they are awful, if you rub your eyes they get out of place, foreign objects can get under the contacts and proper care is required. If you do not have the time and money to clean them I suggest you do not get them. If you don't take good care of them eye infections can appear.

I wear both and would get both. I prefer glasses but there are lots of occasions in my life that I am better off without them, so in that case the contacts are better.

I have both to!
I were the glasses on I take contacts out to clean them. air optics just came out with a 30 day lens for extended wear. I leave them in for a week at a time yes even at night. I have to use on drops like twice a day but after that they are fine! much better and much more convenient than glasses.

I made the switch to contacts in 4th grade, I will never go back. They are perhaps the biggest life changing thing for me lol, they're just awesome. I have glasses to but I just look horrible in them. Contacts are so clear and you don't even know you're wearing them! If you get a decent brand and don't cheap out on them, they're AMAZING!

The problem is price. I struggle to pay for the bare essentials of life sometimes, so I don't know how much having the two of them would cost. How much would you estimate?

The cost of these depend on what kind of problem you have with your eyes. I say that they would vary from 99$ to 400$+, for either contacts or glasses.

With glasses you would only have to pay once and that'd be it. They range from free to very expensive over here, it depends on which opticians you go to. Assume that for one pair of contacts it's £1 which is about $1.50 but that might just be for mine, I have to pay more for my left eye because there's some extra shit wrong with it.

What I'd recommend is definitely buying glasses and then depending on how expensive they are buy a box of contacts as well which you wear occasionally, say, when you're dressing up or going out with friends. Glasses are a lot easier than contacts because you tend not to want to shove your fingers in your eyes at 7am every day. Just my opinion but in the end it's up to you.

Glasses because I've tried contacts and failed miserably. I couldn't take them out or put them in. It's too hard.

Out of the whim, I ended up getting contacts AND glasses. It was hard to get used to them (contacts) at first, but I think I'll be using them when I'm going out? Idk.

Thanks for your input, guys!

Usually, I only wear my glasses when I'm about to go to bed. Occasionally I'll wear them out, but only if I'm in a rush lol

I'm thinking contacts. No offense, but you look like a hipster when you wear glasses, and hipsters are too mainstream :P

Both.

I'm not really blind, far from it, so I usually don't wear either. I like the options. It's a hassle to deal with contacts if you're just at home, or wearing them just in a cinema, or driving to the store. However, I wear contacts to work, concerts, social outings, performances, etc.

And then, if you're like me, sometimes my astigmatism bothers me more than other times and it's good to have glasses in those situations.

I really love the look of glasses on other people (I've never yet seen anyone who can't pull off any style of glasses), but for myself, I definitely prefer contacts. At home, though, I wear glasses.

Glasses are one of my biggest turn ons, and I've yet to see anyone who looks bad in glasses. I really like thick frame glasses on scruffy guys.
