At 14 you can't really be paid for testing video games the closest you'll get is a BETA for a game. Being a BETA tester the most you'll get is a thank you and some ingame item/title. Anyone can be a designer you just need the know how.

It's not easy to find a job working from home at 14. I've heard of, but never met, anybody who was successful in working at home as a younger teen; but it's not impossible. If you want to design games, then I'd say your best bet is to start working on your own and getting your work out there to get it known a bit. By doing that you can make other friends who design games, and then you could work with them, and then meet more people, so on and so forth. Are you a member on any game design forums or sites? If not then you should look around and try to make some connections there to see if you can find any other developers who would want to work with you.

I agree with Mike, you will have very little chance of getting a job that young, I suggest, once you get to high school? if you aren't there yet, to take classes that will help you in becoming a video game designer/tester, that will then help you by the time college comes around so that you can take the more advance classes, and really try and fulfill what you want to do. Who knows if you put your heart into you, you may get some nice opportunities.

Enjoy not being legally able to have a job (unless your state allows people under 16 to work). Here 16 was the minimum age required to hold any actual paying job. Do some video game designing yourself for now, when you turn 16, find a place near you that is in that field. If there's nowhere like that, then get a job at a local store.

Video game test? Not a chance. Not paid anyway. as stated above, you can do BETA's(that what i do). You don't get paid though. As for Game design/development. You need to have imagination and the skills. I am self teaching myself. Have a friend who has a game that was bought from him. but he is working on a MOBA type game. i am helping him. but yea. here is my advice: Stay in school, don't worry about working, do odd jobs like babysitting, mowing lawns, and walking dogs. Get into collage/university, get a degree in computer science and programming, then try and get a job in the industry or just make your own once you get the degree.
I remember when i was younger than you i tried making my own game, didn't really work out. But i have done computer classes and worked on my skills and i am currently working on my first game. but i am nearly 16. your only 14, so wait. your time will come.

Yea trying to find a job you can do from home is going to be tough for a 14 yr old especially since there are so many fraudulent companies out there looking to scam you. Even adults find it a tough road to navigate. I would stick to the more conventional jobs availbale to someone your age.

'Game testing' is called a Beta, you will most likely not get paid for this from any company.
However, you can start now to get into game design. This will be a great advantage over anyone else when it comes down to Collage and University. I know someone who has been programming for soo long that he literally found a very well paying job at 18 as a programmer. This is what I am somewhat working towards.

actually there are game testers who get paid. they WORK for the companies. A Beta, Public or Private is for the community, but a development build is what game testers use to test the companies game

Yes but they are most likely over the age of 18.

I recommend going to something called university, then seeing what job you want, maybe by that time you would like to go out and work.
