Who is viewing a forum/thread

The block that shows who's viewing a forum is gone.. How come?

Block in a thread is gone too, can't see who's viewing a thread.

Were they removed for a reason?

I presume it's a glitch.

It was done in an effort to reduce load on our server, seeing as we've been experiencing more than usual in a number of places.

So no, it's not a glitch. :P

Is that also why when you view a thread, and then click new posts it doesn't go, it's still there on the feed?

Edit:

Basically, thread read markings are set up. This means that if you are inactive for over 30 minutes, all posts will be marked as read. It is cookie based (which means the information is stored locally on your machine) and not on the server. This also affects the change you mentioned.
