Wrote this for my aunt. Read it calmly, since I visioned this to be a calm poem.
Fighting
Fall into my arms
for you can’t go
on like you use
to do; I’ve got you
The pain fades your
face into the long
nights that we stay
up crying together
Weakness trembles
your body right to
the floor afraid
to break something
You keep running
into despair grasping
onto anything you
can get hold of
Thoughts keep drowning
you into the deep
abyss with no more
lights to appear
Those eyes retire
when the brain
can’t stop fighting
the battles anymore
Tears come around
to all when the ears
hear three words
“I’m so sorry”
Fighting
Fall into my arms
for you can’t go
on like you use
to do; I’ve got you
The pain fades your
face into the long
nights that we stay
up crying together
Weakness trembles
your body right to
the floor afraid
to break something
You keep running
into despair grasping
onto anything you
can get hold of
Thoughts keep drowning
you into the deep
abyss with no more
lights to appear
Those eyes retire
when the brain
can’t stop fighting
the battles anymore
Tears come around
to all when the ears
hear three words
“I’m so sorry”
