I should be on Jeopardy cuz i have so many questions :P
if i put someone on the ignore list i know that i won't see their posts and i won't see any PMs they have sent me, but will they still be able to see my posts? will they still be able to send me Private Messages even if I can't see the messages?

They can still read your posts, and still send you PMs yes.

But another question regarding this, why is it that when you try and add someone to your ignore list who has already got you on theirs, it says "Sorry, you can not ignore (username) as they are moderator/admin" ?

Basically all that happens when you ignore someone is that when they post it comes up saying something like "*username* has posted, would you like to see the post" you get the picture anyway. So it doesn't get rid of them so much as hide them and you have the option to view what they've posted.

Because they're a moderator of a diary. Seems like you can't add anyone that mods a diary

This would be correct - diary mods are treated like forum mods. except their only permissions are in their own diary. You wouldn't be able to add a moderator to your ignore list, so because these people mod a diary, you can't add them either. It's slightly annoying, but nothing really anyone can do.
