I have the Producer Edition of FL Studio 10, which is a computer-based electronic music-making program. I'm pretty amateur, but being a former percussionist, I'm very good at making a solid beat. And I'm fairly sure I can incorporate a nice bassline into the background to make the beat even stronger. But if you're willing to take the time to answer these questions, pleeeeease do! I need something to do, and making electro music is what I want.

1. How do I make a strong bass sound? Like a good, out in the open one that would amaze listeners? (Probably makes no sense coming from a percussionist. >_<)

2. Is it possible to download more sounds? I've seen some sounds that people have in tutorials on Youtube.

3. I need some gentle, yet heavy synths. An example is the ones you hear at exactly 1:00 into the song "Language" by Porter Robinson. How would you make something like that?

4. I also would like to know how to just have MORE. I can only make a good drum beat and add in some background bass, then past that I have NO idea what to do. Any tips on some sounds I should add in? I know all of this takes time, but I need some new ideas. My beats sound bare and boring compared to actual electronica. Any hints, please?

I hope all of that made SOME sense. I'm such a noob. x3 Gimme a break though. If I've been unclear, just ask! Thanks for the help if you can provide any.

You need to buy vst's (basically plug in synths), you get very basic stuff with the producer pack (did you buy it or download it). It takes time though just play around on lead synths put them into piano roll and boom you have a melody. I love "language" but don't expect to get anywhere close to it without a lot of practice. If you need any specific question answered just ask me

Almost impossible without buying the software first, until then your stuck with standard synths all cheap.downloadable ones are crap. FL as a programme isnt great either but its a good starter

What would be a good, but somewhat simple program? I heard of Reason. O.o But OMG, I got the demo....and jeez.
Actually, if you know what you're doing, FL Studio can have a good outcome. Take DJ Fortify for example. He's great, and he's 16 years old.

Have you tried Audiotool, it's an online music making software. (Not like ClubCreate or some REALLY crappy looping software. With audiotool it is ALL original. You have the classic Roland 909s 303s and 606s. It is amazing, it gives a real studio feel for the user. I recommend it!!! I have made 2 singles 1 EP and an album. All are on iTunes!!! (Audiotool is just that good!!!)

I tried taking a look at Audiotool, but my internet is soooo massively slow, that I got sidetracked playing a game and one hour later I remembered Audiotool was loading, and went to go look, and it was 1/4 of the way done. I don't think that will work....
