Pictures in threads

Hey guys can pictures in threads be seen by non members? I posted one in the screenshot thread and it has me and my bf in it so I wouldn't want someone that I know to see it.

No.
If you use the attachment feature (which you did), they cannot see it because the administrators made it so Guests or un-logged in users cannot see it. Simple way to see this is by logging out of VT and then going to your post. You cannot see the picture.
Now, if you uploaded the picture to tinypic or photobucket or something and then posted it on VT, it would be visible to everyone (even guests).

However, I think, if you use a third party, such as photo bucket and imgur and other things like that then I think they can see it.
