How does someone come across a drug dealer to give them drugs?

So I've asked this to some kids at school and they say they're on most every street corner. Well, I go on 2 mile walks every other day and I never see anyone suspicious. For something to be so illegal how can someone come across someone else who deals something illegal? Is it like you just walk up to someone and say "Where can I get a dealer?" If you use marijuana, how do you get it?

I know I've been asking a few questions about the topic of marijuana but I've been on a bit of a "kick" about learning about it.

Around my area their usually found via social means. Drug dealers are typically people with a large group of friends or acquaintances that whoever they get the larger units of drugs off knows can get them started, which is why a lot of small time dealers are teenagers. In turn one or two of their friends, friends end up knowing and soon they have a whole bunch of fiends with their number that call them on a regular basis to either pick some stuff up or get it dropped off. That's just how it works around here though. I've personally never known a drug dealer to stand around a certain area selling stuff. Their chances of getting nicked would increase every day, even if they did switch spots all the time.
