Musical Influences

Whether you play music or listen to it, do you have musical influences in your life and why?

A few of mine are:

Pink Floyd, Led Zep, Carlos Santana for guitar, Led Zep has great drums too

Lynyrd Skynyrd for keyboards, piano and guitar

Beatles and Queen have awesome background sound. There is just something to those 2 groups backgrounds

Eagles for acoustics and backgrounds

Stevie Nicks for a unique and raspy voice

Fleetwood Mac for their quality of sound when they all sing

A lot of Avenged Sevenfold's songs have deep meanings/stories
Warmness on the Soul (beautiful love song) from Sounding the Seventh Trumpet
Beast and the Harlot (what a messed up, sinful world we live in) from City of Evil, Trashed and Scattered from CoE (don't-put-me-down-or-you'll-pay type deal)
anything off of Nightmare (warnings about drugs/tribute to the the Rev, the late drummer.)
A7X's songs talk about real things, not mainstream rock's glorification of sex, doing drugs, smoking, drinking, etc. (Sorry if stereotyping) That is why A7X means a lot to me and why they're the band I'm obsessed with, and why I want to start a band of my own.
Oh, and Joe Satriani, Jimi Hendrix, and Steve Vai are big since I'm learning guitar. They're incredible.

I agree about Avenged Sevenfold but they are awesome. Asking Alexandria or pretty much anything in the metalcore genre has influenced me alot.

[Antagonist]

Slipknot and Dimmu Borgir HEAVILY influence my guitar playing. Pop artists like Pink and Demi Lovato influence my singing.

Anything heavy metal or metal core, or black metal I can get into easily.

I love to listen to The Fray, OneRepbulic, Coldplay, Lifehouse. Many of the Alternative/Rock music I listen to are amazing for my poetry influence's and dance. Plus I love how most of these bands are Christian guys singing about real life!
