This is a tough thing to do but the people who matter won't care and won't treat you differently. Do you have a close friend you could try coming out to first?

Do you know his view on lgbt people? If he is always supportive he will most likely be for this too. It's who you are and you deserve to be who you are and be happy.

Wow - I definitively know what you mean. It's really a big step and even though your closest friends won't mind, I'm sure other people around you might treat you differently. I don't know if you are in school or if you have a job, but I know if I came out, the other kids in school would give me a really hard time, so I keep my mouth shut about that part.
I don't really have any close friends that I can tell the secret to. Yeah I know - horrible piece of advice, hah? I guess I just felt I could relate, that's all.

A lot of the time when people worry about coming out it is way worse in their heads then it actually is.

Everything will be fine. :) And you can come out at whatever pace is comfortable for you. And Once you are fully out you will feel so much better that you don't have to hide who you are. (I'm not fully out but there is only a few people who don't know.) A lot of people may surprise you with how they react. But no matter what being yourself is the most important thing and whoever doesn't like that you don't need them in your life. I hope everything goes well for you. :) and I am always here to talk :)

I myself am still confused sexually and at age 18! Girls rarely turn me on, guys do but I still want a girl! *Sigh* At this rate I'd rather be asexual.

Just take it at your own pace, and don't feel like you have to tell everyone right now. Start with people who you trust, and know will take it well, and then it will feel A LOT easier to tell everybody else. It feels like the hardest thing ever right now, but it gets easier! Just take it as it comes and don't rush or take people's reactions too personally - remember that you've had a while to come to terms with your sexuality but people you've told haven't, so they might be a bit shocked. Good luck though, I hope it goes well :)

I happened to be in a similar situation just a few days ago. A classmate told me his crush on me.
I have to admit I felt awkward and I was acting differently. But this had nothing to do with him being gay. It was the new situation I faced and I am pretty sure my awkwardness will faint very soon.
So if people treat you differently at first don't be disappointed this will most likely change very soon. Their first reaction and behavior is not against you, it's more like they need time as well as you did to come out finally.

just come out in your owntime you will be fine to probably tell him if they are truely your friends they will accept you the way you are. if not then they weren't truely your friend. don't worry you can always count on us here at VT to support you and be your friend.:)
