Ok, I ought to make this clear, this is not a massive thing and it's not affecting my lifestyle e.t.c. However, I suppose you would call it paranoia. Almost everyday, for example I am reading something and I hear a word I've never heard before, and a few hours later I hear it a number of times on the television. Or I see hear a joke someone said on facebook I've never heard before, then later hear it again in a film. Or if I was having a conversation with someone sometime in the day about something random, then my father starts talking about it to me later e.t.c. The list of examples goes on, but the point is there seem to be far too many 'consequences' in my life and part of me is saying " something's going on here, something's not right" and another part of me is saying "of course it's just consequence, nothing abnormal." It's not full blown paranoia, I don't think i'm being watched or that someone is controling my life, I just sometimes feel that it can't just be coinsidence.
I am not quite sure what I'm hoping to gain from this, I just thought i'd feel better getting it off my chest.

Me too. This sorta happens to me except with the events. Lets take for example: The Aurora Theater shooting. Before this tradegy happened, I shrugged off any kind of shooting. Even if it was on a city corner. But after that I payed attention to every last detail of shootings. Even if it was on a city block. I looked up gun stats and the deaths that occur with guns and compared 2011 to 2012 and found that gun violence is up by 3%, so I think that is my thing

Omg man you do not know the extent i can relate to this! This is exactly what happens to me every single day aswell. And you're right it does go the extent or paranoia. For example i remember watching the Green Mile, the death scene of the guy, then the next he he dies in real life. When i think when the next shooting in america will be next morning i wake up and its on the news so many words i hear for the first time then hear then 4 times more throughout the day! i really can relate to how you are feeling but you are right it seems they are just coincidences so i don't know what to make of it.

It probably has to do with the fact that the word/joke is in the forefront of your mind because you just learned it, so you'll be listening more for it.
