I'm currently 15 and am looking forward to buying a car sometime soon. The thing is I know nothing about cars. I basically wanted a honda civic or accord or acura. I wanted to know if these cars are any good. Also if you are good at figuring what's right for people, I wanted a fairly new car maybe 2009, a sedan, but I also wanted something like a pickup since I'm doing HVAC and I might need to carry tools/parts/machines and something that will last me about 10-15 years and doesn't burn too much fuel and isn't expesive. So basically an ideal car for a 16 year old as a first car. Thank You.

Well I don't know your price range so I'll shoot for 5000 or less. Okay, You can get an older Toyota Tacoma which is a compact pickup truck with a 6 cilinder engine that gets good gas mileage. (mid 20's on the highway)

You could also get a Toyota Corolla or camry. Those are known for lasting a really long time. I am personally going to get a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban because it has leather seats, can hold 8 people, and has a reliable engine. I would not recomend it for you because it gets bad gas milage. Oh you could also look at Toyota SUV's like the Rav4.

It really depends on your needs. Budget, and how much gas will be for you.

I personally have 2 trucks. A 2002 silverado that gets 7 mpg gas
And a 2009 Sierra that gets 17-19mpg diesel

I have the money to spend and easily drop $250-$325, sometimes more in my tanks weekly. And ate without working. If you include my working gas for the 2002 Chevy I spend about $500 weekly, but that's for my business.

Anyways, it sounds like for you that a smaller truck like a ranger, s10, Tacoma, canyon would possibly work. They're fuel efficient and they are also small trucks which will be good for HVAC work.

People are gonna kill me for this, but what about an Element? You got 4wd SUV, plastic interior so you can haul all the shit you want without worrying about the stains, and both back buckets pop up to give you a nice flatbed when needed.

My cousin has one and he goes everywhere with it. I know is a box, it got horrible mpg (18-22) but also you do not have to worry about spills. Furthermore, the seats become a full size bed for camping out.
