It's free, generally safe but I did it and didn't notice much difference...

Why? Don't you have to change hardware?

No, it's all about managing to gain root access and install Cydia into the system without the need for apple. All software based, no hardware modifications neccessary.

And to the OP, you are aware that it's free. Its your discretion if you think it's worth it. It means more hassle for you as you'll notice your iDevice slowing down (which you'll probably make a thread on) as well as having to wait until a jailbreak exploit is released for the next incremental upgrade. With the coming of iOS 7, I would think it a long way before that can be jailbroken, considering Apple have upped their game in patching exploits. If I were you, I wouldn't bother jailbreaking.

But to be honest I don't think you're interested in further opinions, you jailbroke your device 2 hours from the creation of this thread.

Of course you won't notice a difference just by Jailbreaking. The difference is in what you choose to install. There are so many apps that you can install through Cydia that enable the iPad to do things that it normally can't do. Jailbreaking itself won't do a thing besides installing Cydia.
