Hi i recently started going out with a girl who is a couple of years older than me. Do you think there is anything wrong with this? We have a great relationship and really love each other.

Nope, no worries. Unless the age difference is at a point where there's a power difference, like if she's more than 5 or 6 years older, that can be an issue. But other than that, you're all good man.

All the people I've dated have been older ie 4+ years. I don't think there's anything wrong with it as long as you both realise you're at different stages in life etc.

yes and no, if difference of ages is 5+ you'll have to consider that you'll be in different stages of life and one will mature faster

It depends on the age gap. For example, my stepsister is 19 and she's dating a 29 year old man. It's weird and we feel like he's a bad influence on her. But in your case, the gap might be smaller.

Perfectly okay (most likely)! If you're friends or parents give you a hard time about it, you just gotta be straight forward and tell them how you feel.

For me, I rather date someone my own age. I dunno, it's just me! That's who I prefer. No one younger or no one older. But that's just me. I don't think your weird for dating someone older, love is love, unless it's like a major major age difference.

Nope, age is just a number. Maturity is more important.
Also, a few years isn't a big age difference at all, anyway.
So yeah, if the both of you love each other, I don't see a problem. :)

I have only dated guys the same age as me but I'm sure of I was attracted to someone a few years older that I wouldn't have a problem with it. I wouldn't go younger.
You don't have your age listed but I wouldn't worry about this. Have fun.

Nope. Some people prefer older partners, and there's nothing wrong with that. A few years older is fine.

Guess I'm alone on asking, how old is "a few years"? Honestly, I don't think relationships at a teenage level should exceed a 3 year gap. Anything beyond three years is pushing it because the difference between development, both physically and mentally is so much wider at this point.

Depends on the age gap, sometimes. Say you're 17 and dating a 13 year old - The 17 could easily take advantage of the 13 year olds inexperience and vulnerability, as well as lack of physical, emotional and mental maturity.
I don't think there's anything wrong with adults who have a relatively large age difference. I'm sure it could be a little complicated, what with polarizing wants and needs of people of different ages. It'd take a lot of understanding from both partners.

A few years in my case is just under 2 years.
