Okay I have a Toshiba A25 I just converted it into a tablet, and I was wondering if anyone can help me out here.
I ran into a few problems with converting it, here is a list
Unable to turn it on without going in and pushing the power button
remounting speakers
new front panel needing to be attached in a different manner than originally done
Right now its more of an all in one PC but I was wondering if anyone can help me find a device I can plug in through a USB port and mounts right on the screen that I can use to control the tablet with a stylus.
I know its not exactly aethetically pleasing but I wasn't going for looks, just functionality.
I had to use my 3DS camera to take this pic, please excuse the low quality.
If you want more proof I will make a video of it in action.

Todo:
Install Crunchbang
Get Wifi, ethernet, internal modem hooked up and functioning
Touchscreen Functionality.
In general
Its big, its bulky, but it can run win98 or linux, and it works :)
Current specs:
Pentium 4 2.66 Ghz 2.66Ghz (I think, might upgrade if possible)
40gb ATA Toshiba hardrive (Buying new ATA hardrive)
CD-rom Drive with DVD support
480mb DDR ram (I'm going to upgrade to 1gig ram)
It took me 3 hours to convert this to where it is now.

How did you convert it? Did you remove the screen and flip it over? How does that work?

The touchscreen functionality should be easy. Windows detects a touch-screen display and enables the said features (or you may have to download them through an update). Also try and put in a 3.5mm headphone port, that'll make it pretty good.
If a touchscreen is too expensive, you may be better off buying a tablet.

If I had another laptop I would make a video as it is easier to show you, but I'll try my best to to describe the procces
when I first started taking it apart to convert it I was essentially taking out any and all screws out that might have been holding it together after removing the screws I removed the top, disconnected all wires and then opened u the screen to get at the LCD panel inside as well as the wifi antenae, I removed the display and antenae, reconnectdd them to the main motherboard and laid it ontop with the Wi-Fi antennae near the sides then hooked up and arranged the speakers to fit the new panel form the display's original front and viola here it is
In order to install Linux I had to hook up the old keyboard and move the screen temporarily, gonna backup my files to flashdrive and install the OS from here an then do any neccessary setup that might need to be done from the laptop itself if possible. I still have to work out how to use the original power button, its a pain to have to move the display every time I want to turn it on.
Also Wi-Fi still needs to be hooked up, I gotta figure that out still though.
I might post a vid of me putting on the final touches, that is if you want.

It already has a Headphone jack, mic in, and auxiliary in all are 3.5mm
They were there when I first got the laptop itself.
I just want something I can use to control it via stylus. but a touchscreen overlay would be nice. :)

I know that, I mean adding the headphone jack to the screen/tablet thing you're making.

This is sweet! I'd love to see a video, if it's not too much trouble.

I'll do a video Mirage, uploading it may be an issue though, Mobile hotspots don't always work as fast as you would like them to.
Also, I hope you don't mind my 3DS' Crappy video quality.

I'll make it but it may include installing the OS or just booting it up and using a USB mouse to control it depends on whenever my sis stops running back and forth between rooms >_>
