What a change of events. I was severely suicidal and depressed a week ago and now my best friend is. Im feeling better, a lot. And ive stopped cutting but we were supposed to hang out this weekend and do a bio project but he couldnt, he stayed home so i told him i would just do the whole project on my own if he just did the bibliography cuz i knew something was wrong. He just said thanks and then said that it helped a lot because his parents were fighting a lot the night before and that his dad kicked his mom out of the house for a bit. So i was like damn...

So i talked to him and asked if he was ok which i knew he wasnt and he just said that he was fine and it would be a little bit till he was ok again he just needed a little bit. It kind of hit me there. I told him i was there for him and that if he needed to talk to anyone he could talk to me but he didnt have to.

And today at school he just wasnt completely there so i cracked a lot of jokes and made him laugh but then he would just go back to his blank stare. I talked to him again today and he kept saying he was just tired and i told him to go work out with me tomorrow and he said sure. So hopefully things will get better.

Any advice on what to do to help? Im concerned for him cuz he is one of my best friends and if something happened then i would be destroyed. Even though ive only known him for half a year it seems like we have been friends since first grade

And as for me ive been debating whether or not to set up a meeting with my counselor. I want to but i dont really want to dump e erything out because he might tell someone and i dont know. Im better now so i think ill just wait to see if things get worse

Don't be pushy, just let him slowly become his normal self and hang out more and talk about things going on with both of you to make him feel not so alone
