So I have finally got a girlfriend and I am white and she is black, I have no problem with it but while walking round and when we are out together nearly every person we go past I catch them staring at us, I just wondered what people on here thought of it? Do people agree with relationships like these or not and why do people look so much??
Thankyou :D

It makes absolutely no difference to me. I mean if someone focuses on that too much, then there is something wrong with them.

If two people are happy together, then they should be together. That's all there is to it.

I know how you feel, dude! My ex-girlfriend was of a different skin color, which really doesn't matter at all! We both had strong feelings for each other. That's all that matters! :)

I see no problem with it at all. Why should skin color even matter in a relationship?

I'm white and my boyfriend is Chinese we get odd looks sometimes but I think that's more because we are gay. Even if people had a huge problem though as long as you are happy together then nothing matters especially not something as trivial as skin colour.

I don;t have a problem with it and neither should anyone else, those people are idiots and you shouldn't be bothered by them, just ignore them and focus on your relationship not there petty problems.

As far as I'm concerenrd if two people like each other why shouldn't they be together. I'm a believer that love is color blind. When I first read your post I figured you where from some back water place in the U.S. where this is at least not seen as common as other places around the world but I saw your from the Uk. I always thought people there were a lot more tolerant of interrascial couples than in the U.S. Guess I learned something today.

It doen't matter about a persons skin colour just matters that they love each other and enjoy each others company.
Though some parents will want you to find someone your skin colour, nationality or background. If it was me with this case, i won't worry about it. Just follow your heart.

People in the UK seem to be very errm I dunno the word really, like in different communities you get people sticking together and like in different areas of countries also people help one another out but people in the UK seem to not really talk to each other much and people don't really help each other and when you get something out of the norm I think people judge a lot more but I dunno maybe that is just me, we went to Paris recently and not half as many people looked at us as in the UK :S
Thankyou for all the opinions and replys though people :D

I wouldn't let this get in the way of your relationship, most probably people stare and think "that's unusual" or something. Not in a nasty way I would hope but why care what others think? If you're happy nothing else matters!

I don't think it matters at all. I have a friend who was japanese and her boyfriend was black, and they're happy together, even though her mother was against her dating black people. They always found a way to meet each other.

As long as you like her and the two of you are happy together, skin color doesn't matter. You shouldn't be bothered by petty things like some people staring at you.

You are both human, if they stare at you, you shouldn't care. You are in love with this person, their race doesn't even matter.

There's nothing wrong with it. Let them look and let them see that you both are happy. :)

To find someone to love who loves you back and is compatible with you is the best gift in the world. When you get the best gift in the world, who gives a fuck what color paper it's wrapped in? Good luck to you both!

I'm in an interracial relationship right now too (I'm mixed Black-White) and she is Filipino. We don't get much looks (I look more hispanic), but I guess it is because interracial relationships are very common in NYC. Honestly, race doesn't matter, love is love.
Interracial relationships are the best!!
and best of luck brother! :D

If you love the person, I don't see ethnicity being an issue at all.
I like going out in public and making people's heads turn - something I'll have to get used to in later life haha
