Hello everyone, I apoligize for the long post. But please, stick with me.. I'm in desperate need of answers and help. So any positive feedback will be very much appriciated.
I'd like to start off saying I'm a 14 year old male. I have some friends, but I find it hard to keep a good converstation going. I read some articles and forums online and discovered that people with Autisum tend to lack in the area of social skills. I can easily talk to someone online, and I am a great writer so... I don't know why I can't talk to peers very well. And at school I'm known as the guy who never talks.
I do want to mention I was diagnosed with ADD about 4 years ago. Now that I take medication daily for my ADD, my ability to stay on task and pay attention has improved.
I'm also VERY secure and keep my thoughts to myself. I should feel comfortable telling my parents anything because they are very kind, caring, supportive, and accepting. However, I never tell them anything.
One more thing, paranoid about what people think of me. It really gets to me.
So, my question to you is.. does it sound like I have Autisum? Is there anything wrong with me? If so, how should I fix it? Once again, positive feedback and suggestions will be very much appriciated.

Hey there. No, I don't think you have autism. Sounds like you're just a good thinker. The ADD may add to the fact that conversation is hard to maintain.
I'm totally antisocial so I can relate. You sound like a cool guy. Hope we can help each other.

Yeah, I sorta lack social skills too. But don't worry, we can work (your choice) on this together. I have little friends too. I have ADD, ADHD, OCD, and the list grows longer and longer as I grow older and older. I too am self conscience I too am afraid to tell my parents things. Also I have little friends. To tell you straight out... I think that you might have asphbergers. I was wondering if you need anyone to talk to, come to me. I am one of the most supportive VTers on here (please mods this is a matter of opionon). -Sid

I'm in the same situation as you, sadly. Maybe people like us should just listen in to other people's conversations so we know what the major things are now (eg. Video games, etc.)

I am no expert, but I don't think you have autism. Austism developes by the age of 3, so if you had it I think you and your family would have noticed by now. I think you have the same problem my brothers, parents, and I have. You are much smarter and more mature than the people around you. And I don't think the ADD is helping. Really the only think you can do is just keep tring to talk with your friends, like anything else it takes practice. And you really should talk to your parents about your problems. Probable the most important think to do is to NOT keep things bottled up. It may seem like letting things out doesn't do anything, but it does, even if at if it is harder. I kept depression bottle up so tight, that when I finally let it got way worse. I had to go to the hospital for 9 days, that was how bad I let it get because I bottled it up. So let your feeling out and don't bottle them up, maybe find a creative outlet.

You might want to try and talk to a trusted friend or counselor at school for help. Good luck
