How do you deal with a close family member moving away?

My aunt has taken care of me since the day I was born, changed diapers, picked me up from school, take me to piano lessons and taekwondo classes, etc. In 6 months she'll be moving several states away and she said she'll give me her car too. I don't know how long she will be staying there for and when the next time I'll see her again after she moves. It's hard for me to see someone that I see almost every day/other day to be leaving to a place far away. I've never had this feeling before...it feels like a "death" almost...

At this age and time, with all the technologies in place to keep connected with the people we love, the internet is the biggest example, you will be able to be in touch with her, virtually every day.

It will be hard not to physically have her next to you, but she will always be a skype, phone, Google talk called away. And what if she moves many states away, there are always plane, trains and automobiles :P.

Keep in touch, plan on visiting her, that will make it less painful.

I got a really great friend, her parents were diplomats from Argentina and she went to school with me for six years, she went back to her country last fall, but I still keep in touch with her thru email and Google Talk.

Love is truly a wonderful feeling, no matter how sad it gets.

“Tears shed for another person are not a sign of weakness. They are a sign of a pure heart.”
