Actually, I don't know how. It's been years and years since I've ridden one and the bike I have at home have...um training wheels (won't ride it anyways since now it's too small for me). I never learned how to ride one without training wheels. Both my brothers, though they don't ride their bikes anymore like me, took off their training wheels (I think when we did ride our bikes, which was over 6 years ago, before I moved, I was the only one with training wheels).

The thing is, I have balance problems. I've tried without training wheels and had trouble and unfortunately I gave up immediately. When we started doing bikes in gym class in 9th and 10th grade, I told the teacher about my problem and they let me ride a stationary bike.

Do you think it's...pathetic...that I can't ride a bike? >_> Is there anyone else that can't ride one either (or don't know how)? >_<

Of course it isn't pathetic, I know adults who can't. Don't feel bad about it or pressured into learning. If you were to learn do it because you want to, the pressure of doing something for somebodyelse often makes it harder.

There isn't anything wrong with that, some people don't catch on easily. And after reading, riding a bike doesn't seem to interest you so don't force yourself into it

I learned to ride one the easy way without the training wheels by getti g on it and coasting down hill and learning how to balance it first, then when i could balance the bike I started to peddle and it's been smooth riding ever since=)

I used to have the same problem exept in my case I had an eyeproblem that caused me to lean my head to the left or right in order to see properly. couldn't ride a bike for more than 5 seconds before I plowed into the ground.
after that I was able to learn to balance myself well enough to ride one.

I know how you feel, it sucks when you can't ride a bike. personally I'm going to go to wallmart to find out what size bike I need so my mom can get me one. which will be my first time riding a bike in 2 years, I hope it goes well.
however I can't seem to learn to skateboard for the life of me. :/

I can't ride one either. It's story time. I'm gonna tell you how I ALMOST learned. I did well with training wheels, I could ride it with them. So my cousin was gonna help me learn to ride without them. She took them off and told me to try riding in a gravel driveway. Like you, I had balance problems. I fell to the side and got scraped by gravels. I wasn't gonna give up. Then my cousin said it was easier to practice on a hill. She took me to a hill near her house. She told me just ride down the hill. Seemed easy enough. What she forgot to mention, is how to stop, and that there was a broken down car at the bottom of the hill. I rode to the bottom, saw the car, yelled "HOW DO YOU STOP!?", and ran right into the car. Got a bloody nose and badly bruised on my shoulder/side. I gave up after that.
Moral of the story: Don't let your cousin teach you XD Better moral of the story: If you give up, you won't learn. But it's not pathetic you don't know how, i dont either XD

My mom can't ride a bike, my sister can't, It's been years since I have. It's ok to not know how to ride a bike. It's not 'pathetic' at all. If you feel guilty (and I don't know why you would) about not being able to drive a bike to reduce emissions, there's a reason I'm halting on getting my own car. the technology in modern buses (along with the fact that it can haul more people than a private car :P) is remarkably amazing at reducing emissions. If you're an environmental nut (not saying you are), but you don't want to ride a bike, take the bus, or carpool with a friend :)
