From a design standpoint, the worst game in history is this:

Worst Game: E.T. the Extra Terrestrial

A game so bad that all copies of the game got buried in the middle of a desert (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E.T._the_Extra-Terrestrial_%28video_game%29) so no-one would ever have to play them.

Best game is impossible to choose for anyone really. If it were purely technical, it would probably be Portal 1, since that game was so short and well done that there is no technical problems whatsoever. But it wouldn't be a game I would choose though. To me, there is no best game ever, it doesn't exist, every game has an upside and a downside.

I see where you're coming from, dynamic storytelling, intriguing gameplay, humorous dialogue, talented voice actors and epic level design (at least in Portal 2's case) don't appeal to you then? It's just boring? More boring than killing zombie after fucking zombie after zombie after zombie with bland weapons, boring storytelling, unlikable characters and some of the worst voice acting in a zombie killing game ever? Not only that, but with a poorly rendered engine that gives people a headache after 5 minutes of extended play and has more glitches than all the Elder Scrolls games combined? Well I guess you're right, the Portal series must be a huge pile of boring shit compared to the exciting masterpiece that is Dead Island...

The hate you get for saying these games are anywhere near the worst games is what you deserve and then some. Also, I couldn't care less about what you think of Dead Island, if you're going to reply, just try and explain to me what the fuck makes you think the Portal series is "boring".

You're getting incredibly defensive. I don't like puzzle games, and the humor does not appeal to me. I am in a huge minority in my dislike of Portal, and I understand that. However, I do not appreciate being degraded for what I like and dislike.

The best game for me would probably be the Legend of Zelda series as a whole.

The worst game...ugh. I am a fan of reality game shows so I decided to download an older Survivor game. Easily the worst thought out game ever. The controls are terrible, and when it comes to voting someone off the island - if you don't win immunity you are doomed to lose, because no matter what you do the computer players will gang up and vote you off every single time. :(

Best: Fallout New Vegas for me. I loved that game, and I spent far more time playing it then any other I remember, except maybe GTA: San Andreas.

Worst: Probably Game of Thrones. The TV series is amazing, and I had pretty high hopes for the game, but it was pretty freaking terrible.

Worst: Thrillville off the rails. Game was so bad that I lost it on purpose. Graphics are worst ever, minigames are boring, game is stupid as a whole. Pointless waste of money.
