So im a guy wondering why are girls so close as friends. They shower together and masturbate and i just never do that with my friends.

Not all girls do this, it's actually not as common as you'd think. Boys are just as likely as girls to be physically intimate, so masturbating together, taking showers together, spooning while sleeping, and sometime on occasion, sexual intercourse.

Boys and girls are actually pretty level on this field, just as may boys do it as girls, but not all boys and girls do it.

Also, I think you hear more about girls doing it, because lesbians? This doesn't mean that girls are reanacting lesbian porn, but it definitely normalizes girl-girl intimacy, but when it's comes to boys doing it, they don't really share as much because of the gender binary (men are masculine, women are feminine, nothing is, end of story), which is out of date. Men are told that they need to be manly men, and fuck women, and marry women, and then go out and work and provide for women, CHOP WOOD, BE MANLY. You know? But having a shower with your friend, may be seen as gay and in this society, being gay isn't always okay.

So there are a lot of factors.

I agree with the post above and if you form your opinions based on what you read here or from gossip your talking about a small percentage of the population. I think girls are more ok than guys are about showing affection towards friends of the same sex than guys are which is not to mean that by showing this closeness they want to be intimate together it's just they way we are. If you saw two guys acting the way girls act toward each other you would think there gay.
