Lately since I've started to like Redbull and Monster a lot more and crave the two as daily beverages. Because of that, I've been drinking at least 10-12 cans of it a week. I am also a huge Mountain Dew fanatic so add it all up. People that drink coffee each morning consume at most 2,000 milligrams of caffeine. I did the math. I take in like 4,000-5,000 milligrams of it a week. I drink coffee each morning and also drink mountain dew regularly. I am lucky to not have caveties, I know, but this needs to stop. I mean, my health is at risk here. I just can't stop though. I mean Caffeine is an addictive stimulant drug. I need advice on how to stop. I mean my girlfriend spoke up about it today and I want to make good of my promise to cut down. Please help? :(

Just gradually lower your caffeine intake. You said you take in 4,000-5,000 milligrams of it in a week, well try to take out at least a few hundred milligrams of caffeine, from your intake each week.
Just do this gradually.
Also, drinking non-caffeine mountain dew might also help.

Oh, and try drinking less energy drinks.
Drink things like juice and water, and stay active if you need energy, and maybe take some vitamins.
That should help. :)

Caffeine is addictive. Gradually replace the monster and red bull your drinking with something healthier, ween yourself off of it. Water is obviously the best alternative, but sugar free soda or non carbonated squash would work just as well. :-)

Don't know if I'm addicted, but I like black coffee.

I don't really drink a whole lot of coffee, so I'm not really addicted. I'll have it once in a while.

Bad influence here, but you could be like me and not give two shits about a caffeine addiction. I just let mine happen and I don't fight it. Then again, I feel that caffeine is the easiest thing to break an addiction of. Simply ween yourself off of high caffeine drinks and only drink it every so often throughout the day.

I don't see how this helps OP

OP:

Just start weaning yourself off of it. If its getting in the way of normal life, then you should start weaning, if you enjoy it, lessen the amount to maybe 1 can a day or even half a can a day. It's healthier to drink coffee than those energy drinks. They're filled with harmful ingredients that could be lethal in very large doses.

Well, It's been 12 days since I posted this thread. I have taken my caffeine level down to drinking a Few Mountain Dews every now and again. Thanks guys. :)
