How do you get one? Go here (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showthread.php?t=3928). Post the name of the forum, a description, the owner and any other Moderators of the forum.

Is it like you're the admin of your own forum? If we are going by how vBulletin defines an Administrator, than no. You are a Modererator of the forum.

Can you hire mods for your own forum? Yes you can. It can be done by either naming the members you want as Moderators in the post that you post in the diary request forum or creating a new thread in the Diary HQ if your diary has already been created.

How would you make stickies in your own forum? When creating a thread there is an option to make that thread a sticky. They can also be done to threads that have already been made. I'm pretty sure it is in the thread tools dropdown.

Can you lock threads in your own forum? Yes you can. You can use all basic moderation tools in your diary.

Requirement to get a member forums? You need to have been a member for at least 2+ months and have at least 100+ posts.

Any advice? I'm not sure what else to tell you.

Everything said above is correct. As for advice, don't be annoying about it. Owning a diary here is a privilege, so treat it well. Don't over moderate your diary or make anyone feel as if they are inferior to you there. It's just a forum - you don't have any power over the members.
And the mod tools themselves are quote simple, all the options will be under "Thread Tools."
