When you guys are depressed (like I currently am), how can you focus on other things? Schoolwork, your social life, family, hobbies, anything. When I'm sad about something, all I can do is cry until I'm literally out of tears.
The reason I'm asking is that my school grades aren't as great anymore, and people are starting to ask why. I give my "lazy" excuse, but I know the real reason on the inside. School is hell, so the only way I can get away from it is at home. And I can't avoid stressing myself doing homework and projects.
So, what do you do? Suck it up? Or does it just overwhelm you, like it does me?

I had depression throughout the whole of my final year at school and I somehow made it out with better than average grades in my exams...
There isn't just one solution but these things helped me.
The way I saw it was that if I tried to focus on my work, I could kind of escape all the thoughts running through my head.
The thing with that though, was that I still felt like crap even if I was trying to distract myself. so I would think of little things to help me get through the day, small positives to work towards e.g break is only 2 lessons away, my favorite lesson is next... just small things that made each day a little less crap until i got home and could just go lay down in my dark bedroom.
as for homework, no one depressed or not likes doing homework. might as well do it the day before its due, try not to stress about it as there are way more important things in life!

Even though it can be hard, I just fight through it.
If you're severly depressed though, I recommend you see a counsellor/therapist.
I saw a counsellor when I was very depressed and suicidal, and seriously, it helps.
If this isn't anything serious, then just try your best to fight through it.
If you're very depressed, and this is serious, then seek psychiatric help.
Also, i'm here for you, if you ever need to talk about anything.
