Have you ever had to live without your tech for an extended period?
If so, how did you lose it and how did you feel right then?
Then how did you feel about it after a few week?
The police (or should I say, the state crime lab) currently have my laptop, cell phone, external HD, and all of my flash drives.
They've had them since the middle of November and have said that they found nothing incriminating... Yet they haven't been returned. Grrrrr

Yes. I got an upgrade on my PC but it went wrong so we had to send parts back and get new ones etc etc. I could hardly live without it.

Yes, I was forced to one weekend because I couldn't keep my grades up. It was horrible, I almost died.

I've been grounded without tv since November it hasn't been that bad though.

During a snow storm once when the power went out for a day. It was horrible. Two feet of snow and stuck inside with nothing to do.

Yes. I went about a year and a half with out a computer, it was part of my probation. May I ask why the state has your stuff or is it a personal thing?

Well in a nutshell I created (school) district wide master keys and key cards that would open every district building and disarm the building alarm systems.
I was going to show them the flaws in their security but I was caught testing one of the key cards I created.
Didn't do anything bad (besides make the keys) but I guess they don't like being shown the flaws in their security.
Why are you on probation?

Lol. I guess nobody wants to be shown flaws in their security.
Well basically what happened to me was my dad had given me his old computer and it had crashed, so we went to take it in, and the place had found child porn on it. So we had our house searched, and all our hard drives, flash drives, and burned cds/dvds were taken. They took my laptop, which had nothing on it, my dads computer, and our old computers, but since my dads old computer was in my possession I got a 1 year probation. Thats basically the shortened up version of it.

Yep, the summer after 6th grade and before 7th grade we were homeless for a while. I'm just glad I wasn't dependent on the internet at that time. That came around 8th grade.

When I become dependent on the internet, I become dependent on the internet.
The most I've gone without it though is a week but that was because I was on vacation. The longest time at home was when we switched providers and my internet was dead for two days.

yeah, parents said my grades were bad, so i wasn't allowed to use my computer or watch tv... it was terrible, as i need the internet to live... afterwards they realized that taking away tech won't help scores...

Once I left my laptop charger in my locker at school and could only use my laptop for an hour or so that night.
That was a long night.

Yeah my family and my gielfriend's family went up north camping in Minnesota like 2 miles from the Canadian boarder last summer. We couldn't do anything because my family was there and my little brother wouldn't leave us alone!

Only several times in the last 3 years. It happened more when I was younger(parents got mad over what I now see as a bad decision on my part -- trivial kid matters :P), but I didn't really do much besides play some random games which got boring very quickly.
My parents disapprove of my using the computer at night, and so in 2011, I wasn't quick enough with sliding my laptop under the covers(and my dad was constantly refreshing the WiFi usage list), so I was grounded. But that didn't stop me, as I just switched to using my PSP, and played through Daxter twice. That happened again in the same summer, but I just went downstairs and took my laptop back when they weren't there. They didn't notice, and used it again that night, and have done so ever since.
As for the experience, it wasn't too bad. My parents were a little disappointed, but they forgive and forget after a while. And the world keeps turning.

I went without Internet for two weeks when I moved into this house back in October 2010 because there were no free slots at the exchange and our 3G wireless that Telstra gave us wouldn't work either. Then we got it all set up, and we're fine and dandy now.
I haven't been disciplined and had technology taken from me for a long time. I don't even remember.

Come on people what would you do if civilization collapsed and technology went with it.
Is this honestly what my generation has come to,5 minutes without a cell or internet and boom we go into a darn near coma?

You need to step off your pedestal and chill with everyone else for a while.
You're in no position to lecture anyone or speak like you're any higher than they are - so don't do it.

As for the OP, yea, from time to time I like to take a break. Never for prolonged periods, though.

You posted these words on an internet messageboard. In fact, you have 21 posts in a span of 3 hours and 28 minutes today.
Irony.
Please, Zenos...you're making our state look bad. :(

Yea, my computer was down and my father didn't want to give me his laptop. I realized I was very productive o.o but it was pretty awful too.
